Terms of Service

1. What ScopeLock is

ScopeLock by Koncent ("ScopeLock," "we") is a scope confirmation tool. It analyzes project notes you provide, generates a line-by-line confirmation page, and records your client's responses with timestamps and a cryptographic hash. ScopeLock is operated by Arciva.io, a software entity of The Pontaro Company.

2. Not legal advice, not a contract platform

ScopeLock records what two parties confirmed. It is not legal advice, not a law firm, and not a substitute for a contract or for counsel. Whether a locked scope record has legal effect in your jurisdiction is outside our control and our competence. If the stakes are high, use a lawyer.

3. Accounts and credits

Accounts are created by email sign-in; you are responsible for access to your email. Credits are consumed one per scope analysis. Credits never expire. Credits are not transferable between accounts.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use ScopeLock to send unsolicited bulk email, to impersonate another party, to record confirmations from someone who has not actually reviewed them, or for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or its email infrastructure.

5. AI-generated content

Scope analyses are generated by an AI model from the notes you provide. You are responsible for reviewing and editing every confirmation line before sending it to a client. Suggested defaults (deposit percentages, revision pricing, feedback windows) are proposals, not advice.

6. The locked record

Once locked, a scope record is immutable in our system. We retain locked records so that both parties can return to the confirmation URL. We make reasonable efforts to preserve records but recommend both parties keep their own printed or PDF copies.

7. Third-party platforms

ScopeLock generates shareable links. Compatibility with third-party platform messaging may vary by that platform's terms of service. You are responsible for complying with the terms of any platform where you share a link.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
